How do I get outlook to play back my pda voice notes

For some reason my PC Outlook has 'forgotten' how to deal with Voice notes
recorded on my PDA - for years it's happily recognised the files as audio
files and played them back for me, but for some reason it's no longer doing
so. The PDA (Orange SPVM3100) is quite happy to play them back as per normal

Sounds more of an issue with your sync application but without any details
it is anyone's guess.

I'm using ActiveSync 4.1.0 and have been for some time. I'm not aware of any
changes having been made, although it's probably not a conicidence that the
problem occurred immediately after our I.T. people had been working on my PC.
If it's not off-topic can you suggest anything in ActiveSync's settings which
I should explore?

Ask your IT people what they did. Most likely some updates which would break
the old ActiveSync 4.1. Update it to the latest 4.5 version and try again.

ActiveSync is supported in pocketpc.activesync

upgrading to 4.5 has restored the functionality
