How do I get Outlook to open next message automatically?

With Outlook Express on my old computer, and with Outlook 2007 at work, after
a message is read and then deleted from the Inbox (or any other folder), the
next message opens automatically. But with Outlook 2007 on my new computer,
no other message opens when you read and delete a message. I can't figure
out what option in Outlook to change. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

The setting choices are at Tools | Options | Email options | top line of
that window (in all Outlook versions).
