How do I get Number of pages to be 1 less than actual no of page

We use page number and number of pages on documents. I have a document that
I do not want to include the front page in the number of pages. I know that
with Page number you can "tweek" the numbering, but I can't get it to work on
number of pages. Help

Put the cursor to the left of the current "number of pages" (which is a
NUMPAGES field) and type an equal sign and a space. Then put the cursor to
the right of the current "number of pages" and type a space, a minus sign
(the hyphen key), and the number 1. It should look something like this,
where the 15 is the current "number of pages":

= 15 - 1

Select everything from the equal sign to the 1 and press Ctrl+F9 to make a
new field with that code. Then press F9 to update the new field, which will
show one less than the total number of pages.

If you change the document to have more pages that shouldn't be included in
the count, you'll have to modify the field code to match.

Hi Sueh,

1. Insert a 'Next Page' Section break at the end of Page 1.
2. Open the header or footer on page 2 where you want the page number to appear.
3. Unlink the header or footer from the previous Section
4. Insert your page # field and format it to start from 1

If you also want a document page count, excluding the first page, insert a SECTIONPAGES field into the header or footer.
