additionally, when in OUtlook, when i select Tools/email accounts, i find...
Hotmail (default)
-Deliver new email to
--Personal folders
this "personal folders" is a blue box but i can't write anything over it.

Personal folders is a valid option for my ISP mail account, and i can select
both send and receive boxes there.

but the "personal folders" option is not available under Hotmail, which
offers deleted items, inbox, junk Email and Sent Items as selections. Only
inbox is checked.

Since Tools, Email accounts mentioned above only offers Personal Folders as
delivery location, and there is no Personal folder to select under Hotmail
(in cntl+alt+S) i think that is why no incoming hotmail mail gets to my
OUtlook inbox.

thanks again for your help.

hotmail uses it's own pst - if you look at the hotmail folders is the mail
there? Ctrl+6 if you are using Outlook 2003 and don't see them in the nav
pane.

you are the champion. when i select hotmail inbox, the list of incoming
items is there. thanks so much.

I have another question, regarding getting my Nevigation Pane to show these
incoming hotmail emails numerically. i.e. when i select Mail /personal
folders, i get OUtlook Today: my calendar plus tasks plus messages
numerically shown. THe inbox number reflects those messages sent to my ISP
inbox, but not the Hotmail messages. You are a genius! I'll post this as a
separate thread as well. thanks again.
