How do I get my internet to open files in microsoft word not word

I just replaced my hard drive and now everytime i download something from the
internet it opens in script on wordpad. How do I change my settings so files
just open in microsoft word.

You need to re-register Word. One way is to choose Help - Detect and Repair
from Word's menu. Or, you can run Word once using the /r switch.

This assumes, of course, that you either restored everything from a full
backup, or that you reinstalled Word/Office after replacing your hard drive.
Just copying the Office files isn't enough, since it actually has to be
installed, which involves the creation of a number of registry entries. So,
if all you did was copy the Office/Word files from backup, and didn't
restore the registry in some way, you'll need to reinstall Office/Word.
