How do I get my cell format in excel to transfer to access?

When I tried creating a new table in Access by importing an excel sheet and
my formats are not transfering to Access
 
I don't believe I've run across a way to have Access "inherit" formatting
while importing from Excel.

Have you tried applying the formatting to the Access table after import?
