How do I get folders to collapse (they do in Frontpage preview)

I'm setting up a webpage for the first time. I have a list of 20 categories
with multiple expanding folders, most of which have links. There are
probably 250 entries altogether. In Frontpage preview mode, the folders
contract and expand perfectly with one click. But once I publish to my
website, the folders are stuck in the fully expanded position. No amount of
clicking or refreshing the site contracts the folders.

Can you post a URL??
I'm not sure what you mean by "expanding and contracting folders."

There is a javascript error line 15 of your javascript.

I would assume the error is in the external: outline.js file.

Unfortunately I don't have time to check it for you now, as there is a little blond lady that's
going to shoot me if I don't shut down so we can go to the movies.

I have put back the non offending page at www.norcrossenterprises.com so I
have a usable website. The file you were looking at is now at:
www.norcrossenterprises.com/index.htm. I have tried creating new pages with
a couple of cascading folders - even though they are simple files and
collapse properly in preview mode, they don't work once posted to the
website. If I preview in browser, I get an error message: "To help protect
your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing
active content that could access your computer. Click here for options."
Once I click, the list collapses properly. However, I don't get this message
when the file is posted to the web. Thanks for your help.

I think that was the trick. The host is adding a bit of code to handle
Frontpage. If that doesn't solve the problem, I'll revert. Many thanks.

The Microsoft support help didn't solve the problem - as noted earlier, in
preview mode, the folders collapse and expand properly. It's when they're
posted to the host that they don't work properly. I am using GoDaddy as my
host and although they have installed Frontpage extensions, could the problem
be with their system? Thanks.

One other clue. As noted earlier, if I Preview in Browser, I first get a
blocking message and I have to click the toolbar to allow blocked content -
when the page opens, the folders are nested properly. But in Firefox, I get
no blocking message and the folders are permanently stuck in teh expanded
mode.

This is a JavaScript DHTML/browser issue, see if the following will help it was a modification,
written for a FP98/FP2000 collapsible list.

http://www.ycoln-resources.com/resources/scripts/default.asp#script6

The above link, the IE Page Icon to view the example which doesn't appear to work in IE6, and it was
never support in other browsers.

There is a temporary problem with the site processing ASP scripts at the moment. Try the link in a
hour or so.

I never could get to the site - always seemed to be down. In any case, the
problem is solved - I didn't know that I had to move the outline.js file to
the website. That worked! Thanks.
