How do I get decimal alignment in automatic numbered lists instea.

I have been unable to find a way to change how MS Word aligns numbers in an
automatic numbered list. I prefer to have the decimals aligned, but the Word
default seems to be to align the first (left) numeral. Is there some way for
me to change this?

The only way to get the number format you want is to apply a style (List
Number, for example), created or modified to your specifications.
