How do I get a Word document (Word2003) to open to "Normal" view?

When I open a Word document via Outlook2003, it opens it in "reading layout"
but I would rather the default be "normal" layout. Any suggestions?
 
In Word, go Tools > Options, on the General tab uncheck Allow starting in
Reading Layout.
