I cant for the life of me get a second and third etc... page of the same type
of label. I set up the type I want Avery 5161 and the first page appears - I
fill it all in and then I need another page - to continue.... I feel so
dumb..... can someone tell me how to do this - page breaks and section breaks
dont work. Any direction would be appreciated. Thank you!

A label template is just a table. You can see the table cell
boundaries if you click on Table | Show Gridlines. When your
cursor is in the last table cell on the page, press the Tab key
once to create a new row. Continue tabbing through the last cell
to create new rows.

That template is an easy one for this. With the cursor in the lower right
cell, hit the tab key. Continue hitting it until you have enough cells.

(Some labels aren't as easy as this.)

Labels are tables. Once you have filled in the last label (lower right), hit
tab and you will jump to the top of the next page. Tabbing at the end of
each row will add a new row below.

Alternately, you can select the entire table (Ctrl + A), then click Table>
Insert > Rows Below. This will effectively add an entire new set to rows
below your existing rows.

Thanks - Ya know I did do it that way - but the format of the labels is not
the same and I didnt want to waste the time typing in the info - printing it
and having it not be lined up correctly. The original page shows maybe an
1/8 or 1/4" in between each of the labels - but when I get to the end and
used my tab key it no longer showed that extra space....... is that normal
and will it still print correctly? Thank you for your quick responses!

Tabbing through the last table cell should create a new row with
the same formatting as the previous row.

An alternative approach would be to:
1. Select the Avery 5161 format.
2. When the first page appears, click somewhere in the table,
click on Table | Select | Table, and press Ctrl+C to copy the
selection.
3. Click at the beginning of the second row of the table.
4. Press Ctrl+V to paste the previously copied rows. Each
time you press Ctrl+V, you get one extra page of labels.

No clue. It worked just fine for me. I purposefully looked at that template
to see if there was some sort of oddball spacing. Are you using Word 2003?

As others have told you, labels are just tables. The problem is that some
label definitions include thin spacer rows or columns. When they contain
spacer rows, then just tabbing out of the last row on one page will not
reproduce the labels on the next page because the spacer rows are not
included. Selecting the entire table on the first page, copying, and pasting
onto the second page will do the trick, but when you have more than a couple
of pages of labels to produce, you're much better off using a mail merge;
this has the example that the data source you set up for the merge can then
be reused for other purposes (labels of a different size, envelopes,
letters, etc.) and can be sorted in various ways. For more on label merges,
see http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_labels_with_word_xp.htm

This particular label is one that includes spacer columns but (luckily) not
spacer rows, so tabbing out of the last label on the first page should work
for you.
