I am having problems formatting insert text fields. Formatting appears to be
all over the place and difficult to get the desired result.
I seem to be having problems with the insert text field as a whole.
Is there a better guide that shown on Microsoft help?
I am aiming to set up specifications that can be linked to data files which
will input text to make them project specific.

What is the exact name of the field you are using?

If it's the INCLUDETEXT field, the formatting is already done before the
text is inserted. INCLUDETEXT brings in part of another document. The
formatting will be the formatting as defined in that other document.

You need to be careful of formatting conflicts. You should take care to use
the same styles in the external document and the destination document. When
the text comes in, it will then adopt the formatting from the styles in the
destination document.

No, there is no better source of information on the INCLUDETEXT field than
the Word Help. However, spend some time ensuring that you understand the
use of Switches in Fields.

If you are not using the INCLUDETEXT field, then I need to know exactly
which one you are using :-)

Hope this helps
