How do I force a permanent setting in Power Options?

After Portable/Laptop setting wakes up system, it reverts back to PowerSuite
Scheme without me doing anything. Any suggestions? Using XPP SP2.

That sounds like some proprietary gismo. Check for foistware put onto the
computer by the reseller, this may be conflicting with Windows' own power
manager.
