Everytime I open Microsoft Word (2003) there is a little Paragraph symbol
(looks like a backwards P with two lines) and I want to get rid of that. HOW?
I have searched all through the program and I DON'T know what to do??? I
can't type documents with this thing... it even appears after I skip lines by
hitting enter and everything! I hate it! How do I set EVERYTHING back to
original settings? I need to fix this and soon (school is about to start).

Thanks a ton!

Joseph.

You need to click the ¶ on the standard toolbar. You may have to expand the
chevron on the right.

Mary has provided the answer you need. For more about why you might
sometimes want to see nonprinting characters (formatting marks), see
