how do I find repeating words in a list

how do I find repeating words in a list. It would look like this

cat
dog
horse
goat
bird
cat
snake

I want a way to delete or find the second cat because it is repeated.

Which features in Excel would make this any easier?

You can use Table | Sort (even if the list is not a table) and it will
alphabetize the list, putting all the duplicates together.

I was thinking of Data, Filter, Advanced Filter, but your suggestion together
with that of Graham Mayor could be better. The Excel method comes in handy
if, for any reason, the original order should be kept.
