I got the infamous Re: \windows\system32\config\system....missing or
corrupt! help!! lots of ideas please!!! message, so my computers down,
it wont start up, for nothing. I have XP Pro but since there like 5
editions out, how do i find out which version I have, so I can go buy
the right CD and fix the problem.

If you don't have the CD then there is no need to buy a cD just for fixing this
problem. Fix this by :
-How to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545
If you use Manual steps, you can use any DOS cd instead of recovery console....
