How do I find old emails from an old pc back up?

Hi, I had to re-install windows and made a complete back up of my hard drive
prior to doing this.

Now I need to get at some of my old emails for things like activation codes,
how do I go about doing this?

Dear,
Which version of OL do you use?
Have you made any backup of your "pst" file(s)?, if yes then simply add that
pst file(s) in to Outlook. You should get your mail back.

Import the .pst file. Or open it separately if you don't want to bring
back those e-mails in your message store (File -> Open). Depending on
what you used for backup media (CDs are read-only), you may have to copy
the .pst file(s) to the hard drive and remove the read-only file
attribute.

Thanks Anver and Vanguard, I was using Outlook 2003, but I'm sure it does not
matter, I made a full back up of my C drive onto an external hard drive, your
help worked like a charm
