How do I find Access 2003 files using keywords in the document? .

We recently upgraded our computers to XP Pro and Office 2003 Pro. I have
multiple mailing lists in an Access 2003 database and maintain them by doing
a file search of the address or addressee to find the specific database(s)
where the contact appears. A standard search and an advanced search yield no
results, even though I know the data exists. Does the XP/Office 2003 search
not look within the data of an Access database? It will find a database if a
portion of the file name is the search term. I don't know how to make it do
an accurate "keyword" type of search.

I have the search wizard in XP turned off. So to do what you're trying, I
place the value in the "Containing Text" box to search for a value inside
the file. The folks in the Windows XP groups can probably help you better
with this. You should be able to search for text in the file as long as you
haven't encrypted the file.
