I want to export the contacts from a distribution list in outlook. Can I
select a specific list, or am I stuck exporting all contacts only?

I'm using MS Office 2007 Enterprise.

Thank you!

A DL doesn't contain contacts. It contains name/address pairs. You can
"export" the contents of a DL with File>Save As and choose Text.

DL's do not survive exporting. Ever. Your question is unclear. DL's do not
contain Contacts. What is it you need to do?

I want to export a specific group of people from my outlook contacts. When I
choose the export function, I do not see a place to select individual
contacts. How can I select just a certain group of them to export?

To repeat: exporting is never a valid way to transfer Outlook data. First
you said "Distribution List." Now you say "specific group," whatever that
means. At no time have you clarified what you want or need to do. We cannot
read your mind.

Here is an example of what I want to do:

I have 100 contacts in my outlook address book (contact folder?)
I want to export 25 of them into an excel file to import into another
application

I do not want to export everyone in my contacts. I only want to export 25
specific contact entries. Coincidentally, I have all of the people I want to
export grouped into a distribution list - which apparently doesn't matter.

If you want to use the export function, you must place these Contacts in a
separate Contacts Folder. You can only export folders. You cannot export
individual Contacts.

You're almost there. Save the DL as a .txt file. Open it in Notepad and delete the first few lines, so that you're left with only names and addresses. The result will be a tab-delmited text file that you'll be able to open in Excel and save as a .xls file.

I understood the question very clearly, what is your problem, Tool. . .

And you REALLY expect someone to be still monitoring a thread that is THREE
YEARS OLD?
EggHead Hooplehead strikes again...

Sorry, but you're out in left field. If you actually think you understood
the question, then it was incumbent on you to answer it, not chastise others
who recognized the non-sequiters. And thank you also for the personal email.
It was most welcome, especially from a thread that is over three years old.
You're a real pip.

Now, GodswMobile have released its new edition of WM backup software--godswmobile contacts transfer v2.0 which contains two hot funtions - transfer contacts from windows mobile to a new android phone or iphone. So with this powerful software, you are able to backup and restore text messages and contacts between windows mobile phone and a new phone(android phone/iphone) easily.

I have used this software for a time!~ So far quite good.

One of the greatest problems that youre going to encounter when you get a new phone whether its switching carriers or upgrading from your previous phone is switching your contacts over. It can be quite annoying or time consuming if you have to manually do it.
Thankfully, the godswmobile contacts transfer v2.0 makes it rather easy to switch your contacts over and keep them backed up from another phone.

here i want to share my experience:my previous device is a windows mobile based phone, and recently i bought a new iphone,i have a lot important contacts.i search on the internet and find an easy way to transfer my contacts from windows mobile to a new iphone!

here is the solution:

I got myself a new Smartphone with Android 2.0 and wanted to transfer all my Contacts and SMS from my old WM6

my experience is using a 3rd party backup software(such as Godswmobile contacts transfer) to do it,you can backup and restore contacts easily, also you can transfer contacts from windows mobile to new phone(android/iphone).

when you plug you windows mobile back up to you computer it'll back it up completly your messages etc. it won't erase it because itll back it up first.if it backs that up or not i cant remember that partBesides i share you a article about How To Transfer SMS From Old Phone's Sim Card To computer?, which can help you backup all Windows mobile contacts and SMS to your computer and keep them safe on the computer. Hopefully this works for all of you like it just worked for me!

iTunes only allows one-way transfer from iTunes to iPhone/ipad2, not the other way around. You will need some iPhone-to-computer transfer program to help you. You may have a look at this step-by-step guide on: How to batch transfer photo from ipad2/iphone/ipod to computer without iTunes. It includes the transfering of music, photos, videos, music ect. between iPod/iPhone/iPad and computer(PC or Mac).
