How do I export a Group distribution list to excel 2007

I have created a distribution list in Outlook 2007 that i want to use as part
of mail merge in word 2007. So far it seems that i can only select outlook as
the source of the mail merge and not an individual distribution list. so i
have to go through a filtering process in mail merge but on saving the
filtering etc does not get saved. If it is not possible to import the
distribution list perhaps there is a way to save the filter and the
selections i make in word so i can reuse the template. thanks

I don't believe DLs can be used as the recipient source for a mail merge.
