How do I enable the Infrared com port?

Can someone tell me how I enable the Infrared com port in
my W2000 Pro please?

I have a Dell LapTop with built in Ir Port and the install
hardware feature does not find the port.

Many times the reason the IR port is not found is because it has not
been switched on in the BIOS. Please consult your owners manual for the
correct procedure.
