How do I embed a streaming video box in a Powerpoint presentation.

There is a slide in my live presentation during which I would want to take a
live feed from a USB webcam or digital camera with streaming video and
project a close-up of a hands-on demo as part of the slide. Is there an easy
way to do this?

Mike:

Thanks for the reply. I am not a Media Player expert. In these situations
I am usually nowhere near net access. Everything has to be handled on my
local machine. How do I set Media Player to take a live stream directly from
a USB port?

You can't with Windows Media Player. You would use Windows Media Encoder
(free download). You set it up to stream from the web camera. Then you
point the the player object to the encoder stream. Typically it would be
http://machinename:8080. Where 8080 is the port you specify (default) when
setting up your encoding job.
