How do I elimate double spacing when creating new emails?

When creating new emails, instead of a single space between sentences there
is a double space. Word editor is not being used. How do I change the
setting to default to single spacing on every new email being created. I
know that I can change each new email seperately by going to Format, Style,
Normal. But it does not keep the settings for the next new email that is
created.

If you do use Microsoft Word for your email editor, you can use one of the
writing styles other than Casual, which is the default. Font characteristics
and other formatting, including the writing style, are stored in the default
Word e-mail template file, Email.dot.

To change the default Email.dot template, follow these steps:
- Close Outlook and any e-mail messages, contacts, appointments, or any open
Outlook items.
- Launch Word and goto the File menu, click Open.
- Change the Files Of Type, to Document Templates (*.dot)
- Choose the file Email.dot, and then click Open.
- From the Tools menu, click Options.
- Select the Spelling & Grammar tab, click to choose your desired style from
the list.
- Save the file and exit Word.

Now when you open a new message in Outlook, the writing style will have the
saved changes you made to the Email.dot template.
