HELP!!!
I made the mistake(?) of associating my @msn.com account with my windows
login account. The @msn.com account was only setup to use as a messenger ID.
Now I get a message on my welcome screen, informing me of an ever increasing
number of mails in a mail box i never setup or have any intention of looking
at.
How do I get rid of that annoying message.

Any taker on that one

Thanks

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304148/en-us

That article says "You cannot disable this feature in the user
interface, nor can you configure the Welcome screen to populate the
unread message count from only a particular e-mail program," and goes on
to suggest dealing with it by setting permissions. If you're
comfortable with modifying the registry, I'd first try backing up (by
exporting) the subkey for (e-mail address removed) under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail
and then deleting that subkey entirely. For belt & suspenders safety,
also make a system restore point before you start fooling around with
the registry.

Also, if you want to turn off ALL mail notifications from the logon
screen, download tweekui from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
