How do I delete thousands of duplicated Contacts?

I have thousands of duoplicated contacts as a result of a number of different
Database management programmes utilised by different employers which have
duplicated when I synchronized my PDA with Outlook.
Is there a quick and easy method to remove the dulpicates?
