How do I delete outdated reminders that keep pop up?

I keep getting reminders for birthdays in the past, some of them are 14 weeks
old. I cannot delete or remove these reminders. Please advise how I may do
this.
 
Run the cleanreminder switch that comes with outlook.

Start menu - Run - type in: outlook /cleanreminders
