How do I delete folders

I have a bunch of the folders folders:

Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not
access the specified folder location. The operation cannot be
performed because the object has been deleted

How do I get rid of them when I can't remove them from yje folder
list?

Post your question more clearly. Post your Outlook version and the steps you
used to create this mess. You haven't told us anything that would permit us
to help.

Outlook 2003

If I right click on the folder that I want to remove, hightlight the
'remove fron Contacts- nothing happens.

This is in no way what your first post stated.
Did you intend to post a different question?
If so state the view in which you're now working and the location from which
you are trying to delete this folder. Does this folder exist in Folder List
view? Is the actual action you are attempting "Remove from My Contacts?"

For some reason, all the duplicates folders disappeared overnight.

It's a miracle. Maybe the Navigation Pane just needed to be reset.
