how do I delete a saved document

When I select or click on the document it opens. Then clicking on delete
does nothing. Help.
 
If it opens when you single-click on it, then you have set Windows to
perform this action on a single click (which is not the default). In that
case, right-click and select Delete.

In Windows, with Word closed, select the document. Press the delete key.
