How do I delete a message that has begun to be sent from Outlook

I have tried to send a message that that is too big for hotmail to handle.
My Hotmail account will only allow messages 1mb or smaller. The message that
is trying to be sent is 7mb. Hotmail will not accept it but Outlook will not
stop trying to send it. If I try to open the file to delete I get the
message that it cannot be opened as the file has already begun to be sent.
If I try to right click on the file and use the option to delete nothing
happens.
