My xls file is green in windows explorer. I can not open it. it tells me its
encrypted. i want to open it. it dosent ask for a password or anything it
just tells me it may be encrypted and cant open. any suggestions??
thanks

Green means it is encrypted in NTFS, and you will need to access it
using the account you encrypted it in. You may want to look up
encrypting in the Windows Help.

HI Bob.
Thanks, but that is not the answer as i am the only one that uses this
computer and i am the administrator and i encrypted this file under my own
account. I can not even open it, it just tells me it can not acsess the file
it may be restricted or read only.
anyway if you have any other suggestions im all ears

It is an Operating system and File system encryption issue. It is not an
Excel encryption issue. You might try r-clicking on it in Explorer, and
select Propeties, Advanced and UNcheck Encrypt contents. Otherwise I
suggest you post to the operating system group detailing how you
encrypted and what has happened to your file and account since the
encryption was done.
