How do I create labels with multiple names on one page

I am trying to create labels for a Christmas Card mailing.I don't want to
"merge" anything. So how would I do a simple single page, multiple
recipients. I have Word 2003, if that makes a difference.
Thanks.

In the Labels dialog, click New Document. This will give you a sheet of
labels. They're set up as a table, so be sure you have table gridlines
displayed (Table | Show Gridlines) so you can see the label boundaries.

To get more than one sheet of labels, you can tab at the end of the table to
create more rows, provided all the rows are the same. If the labels have
horizontal separator rows, you'll need to copy the whole table and paste it
on the next page. Whenever you have more than one sheet of labels, however,
it is time to stop and think whether it wouldn't be wise to go ahead and
create a data source and merge them, since there's a good chance these are
addresses you may want at some point to reuse. See "Mail merge labels with
Word 2002/3" at http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_labels_with_word_xp.htm
