how do I create hard returns in a form field in Frontpage

I have a memo field in a FrontPage asp form page. When entering text in the
form, if I hit a return, a new line is created. However, when I view the
results on the web, the carriage returns are not present and thus, all text
is together. Is there a way to create that carriage return when entering
text or is there a setting in FrontPage that allows for them?
