Is it possible to create dropdown lists in Excel? If so, how do I do it?

Thanks

Hi Micki,

Basically what you need to do is:
- create a list of items/options you want to be displayed
- select the range of the list (highlight the list) and give it a name which
you have to type in the 'name box' in the top left corner end press enter
- select a range where you want the dropdown to appear and choose Data /
Validation / Settings, where you can choose the validation criteria: choose
'list' in 'allow' and as a source key in the name of the list (="name"). 'OK'

Hope that will help.

I've used validation to create a drop down list, but it will only show when I
click on the cell. How can I get it to appear when I open the worksheet?

This was really helpfull thankyou
