How do I create an automatic reference to pp. numbers above my en.

I am writing a long document (an academic dissertation) which has a long list
of endnotes. It would be easier for anyone reading to access them with a
header that reads "notes to pp. {x} - {y}". How do I create such a Header,
and is it possible to create {x} and {y} as fields, so I need not manualy
update them as I make changes in the document?

Many thanks!

Last I asked, I was told it was sophisticated (and extremely expensive)
professional typesetting software developed for publishing houses that
handles that function.

It'd be a nice frill, but no one expects that sort of convenience in a
dissertation. Even if you could program it--almost anything can be
programmed--I doubt it'd be worth your trouble.

To cut a long story short, I dont think is possible without a
ridiculously large macro, so your best bet is to manually do it using
no headers and footers and a table on each page to simulate the H&F
layout. Not much fun.
