In a powerpoint slide, I want to create a 3-Dimensional ball/sphere. Is this
possible? How do you do it?

Which version of PowerPoint? It's easy with PowerPoint 2007, because of the
new 3D features.

You can layer a series of semi-transparent shapes to create a 3D effect.
The other option is to use the Perspector add-in (http://perspector.com/)
which basically adds a 3D application inside PowerPoint. It does have to be
purchased, but it works with all versions of PPT and allows me to quickly
create great visuals when needed.
