How do I correct a cyclic redundancy check error

When I open an Excel document, the cyclic redundancy error dialog box comes up.
 
Have you tried to open the file on another PC?

Also, close all programs then do a search for all temp files - *.tmp.
Delete the tmp files. Try again.
