how do I copy appointments to a shareware calendar?

We are able to view each other's calendars but I would like colleagues to
copy certain appointments to one calendar so that I can have an overview of
the department's movements. Is it possible to create a 'button' on each
person's calendar so that an appointment can be selected and copied to a
shareware calendar? Does anyone have any other ideas as to how the same end
could be accomplished?
Thanks

Outlook version? Exchange involved? Define "shareware"

Thanks, Milly. duh! I should have said 'SharePoint' not 'shareware'.
Outlook is v2003 - Exchange is also v2003.
I will be very grateful for any assistance you are able to offer.

I am working with SharePoint 2007 at the moment so I need to go into the wayback machine.

I seem to recall that the only way to do this is to drag and drop items from one calendar to the SharePoint calendar. 2007 versions of Outlook and SharePoint offer better options.
