How do I copy a list of folder contents?

I want to be able to copy just the list, not the entire contents, of various
Word folders and subfolders. I tried to cut and paste, but got contents as
well, which I don't need. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
P.S. I have Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002.

If you are trying to just copy what the directory looks like but not the
actual folders, hit open, go to the directory you want copied and hold down
trl and hit print screen at the same time, then go to a blank page and paste.
Hope I understood you correctly!
