how do I copy a dialogue box into a document?

I used to know how to do this, but I can't for the life of me remember how
now. Please help?

While the dialog box is the active window, press Alt+Print Screen to copy it
to the Clipboard. Close the dialog box. Paste (Ctrl+V) the screen dump into
your document.
