In the same way as you can set a computer in an Apple.

They don't have in my opinion in the way you describe this now, no
connection with each other, maybe can you explain more what you want.
(Except that they exist in the system.data namespace)

here's what i'm trying to do:
i used to the dataAdapter wizard to generate my data access commands.
i'm using the dataAdapter.Update(ds) to push my changes back to the
datasource.
i noticed with insert command it automatically returns the row that was
inserted. that's exactly what i'm trying to get to but have no idea how (the
newly inserted row).

Mattie,

They are not returned, they still staty there, when you take the original
dataset or original datatable in the dataadapter. Than (as there are no
errors) will all rows in that dataset/datatabel/datarow set to "not
changed", which means that they are the same as in the database.

I hope that this gives an idea.
