I saved text from a web page onto a floppy disk but when I went to open these
files I could not read the text. could someone please tell me how to convert
the text back so that I can I actually read it? I am doing all this through
microsoft word.

How did you save the text onto the floppy? As "Web page (complete)" or as a
Word document or what? Have you tried copying it to your HD before trying to
open?

Never ever read from, write to or print from floppy with Word. This is the
most certain method of ensuring document corruption. Copy to the hard disc
and work on the document from there. This is equally relevant to other
removable media such as CDRW.
