How do I convert Fieldcode results to just text?

I have received a document that has a bunch of URLs appearing as Field Codes.
When I convert the document to Plain Text the URLs dissapear. How do I get
them to stick during the conversion?

Select the whole document (Ctrl+A) and unlink the fields
(Ctrl+Shift+F9). That makes the hyperlinks into ordinary text, and
then you can save.
