How do I convert column headings to row headings

I have a very long row of headings across the worksheet that I want to drag
to a list of headings in one column, avoiding a retype. Can this be done ?

Pauline,

Select the headings and Copy (Ctrl+C). Then select a cell where you want the
headings to be pasted vertically, and do Edit > Paste Special, Transpose.
