How do I convert an MS Word file (Office 2000) to pdf?

Hello all!
I have created an MSWord file, in Word 2000, that uses text boxes for layout
and contains clip art and some display fonts (it's a program for a community
theatre group). I would now like to convert it to a pdf to send to the person
who will be printing the programs. My Word toolbar has a button labeled
"Acrobat", but when I select "convert to Adobe pdf" nothing happens. Also,
when I select "change conversion settings", no screen appears (not sure what
the settings should be anyway).
Your help would be gratefully appreciated!

It sounds like someone may have installed Adobe Acrobat on your machine
in the past, but Adobe has been uninstalled or otherwise corrupted

I have had success with a piece of freeware named PDF995
(www.pdf995.com), You have to download and install two programs: The
"Pdf995 Printer Driver" and then the "Free Converter". Install each
one separately. Then, in any Windows application, do a File=>Print.

When the printer dialog appears, select the "PDF995" printer. It will
create a pdf file on the fly. Make sure you have the Adobe reader
installed so you can view the result
