How do I convert a txt. file to WORD-03 and recover formatting?

I saved a table with test as a txt. file in Word. When I tried to open it up
again in Word, the formatting was all messed up and I had a bunch of little
boxes. How to I convert the file back to a doc or recover my original
formatting? Please feel free to email comments to (e-mail address removed)

When you save a file as a text file, it strips out formatting. Kind of
defeats the purpose of creating a table. Did you have an older version of
the file that you can fall back on?
