If you're wanting to create a mail merge data source, what Word uses is a
table. You could try Table | Convert | Text to Table. If the text file is
comma-separated, you can use it as a mail merge data source as is. See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MailMerge/CreateADataSource.htm
