Hi
I have a laptop and desktop both running Windows XP. I have a wireless
network and all fine. I want to copy all my music files from the desktop to
the lap however it takes ages over the wireless as there's so many. Can I
simply plug the lan cable into my laptop and transfer the files that way?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you are using a typical wireless router with built-in switch, then Yes.
You can connect both computers to the RJ45 ports on the router with standard
ethernet cables and your transfer speeds should increase. If you want to
connect the desktop directly to the laptop, you need a crossover cable.
