How do I color my calendar

When I enter an appt or event as "free" the box is white while busy is blue,
but it does not show up as such on my calendar. To have to individually add a
label to each is insane. Any suggestions? Why does Outlook not automatically,
for example, color a birthday and then one could edit the color at macro
level?

The free/busy information added to individual appointments is used by the
server to inform others whether or not you are available for a meeting.
Exchange does not use the calenar but the free\busy information when
scheduling meeting and determining if there are any conflicts. You can see
the free/busy information schedule for yourself and other by creating a
Group Schedule under the menu option View on the calendar.

The labes are used more for personal use and organization.

I do agree it would be benefical to have some sort of indication on the
calendar what you have indicated on the appointment regarding free/busy as
well as the label option.

In a daily or weekly calendar, you'll see the free/busy color to left of
each item.

Sue,

Thank you for posting the information below. I look at the free/busy
information every day on my calendar and had totally forgot about it. Will
just chalk it up to a momentary brain-lapse

Regards,

Francine
