I know that you have to restart the computer then click an F# option usually
to open up the BIOS menu, but I can't find it or how to do it on my gateway!
How do I clean install my gateway with XP Prof.? And I allready know about
the widnows sites to explain how to clean install it, I basically read off oh
those. PLEASE!??!
Thank you.

In the extremely unlikely event that your PC's manual or the
motherboard manufacturer's web site doesn't contain the needed
information, try one or more of the following:

How do I access my computer's setup (BIOS)

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

I cannot imagine you got much from your reading if you think you need to "clean the BIOS." That would be a good thing to do if you never want to use your PC in the future. Do that and you might as well go buy another machine for that will fry it.

All you beed do is reformat the harddrive and put the Windows XP CD-ROM in and restart the machine. In fact you can just put the CD-ROM in at boot "hit any key to start the machine from the CD-ROM" and you have the options of re-installing anew (But reformat the harddrive when given the opportunity).
