How do I change the time setting for slides in a PPT presentation

I'm trying to change the time element per slide in a Power Point
Presentation, but find no provision for doing so, without re-creating the
entire project.

You can adjust the timing in the slide transition task pane. Select the
slide, next to automatically after adjust your timing by typing it in or by
using the spin boxes.
