How do I change the default font of text used to mark comments?

When I reply or forward a message, I want to be able to make comments in the
previous messages in a font different than my default reply font. I want
this to default to a specific font rather than change the font manually on
each comment.

My reply font is blue arial. I want the text used to mark my comments (and
ideally the comments themselves) to be in a different font, like bold red
arial.

Can this be done?
